Privacy Awareness Week 2023

Get ready to be a champion of privacy!

The Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) is an annual gathering of data privacy practitioners and professionals, celebrated through Proclamation No. 527 series of 2018. The event provides an avenue to learn more about data privacy and connect with experts in the field, as data privacy practitioners and professionals share their best practices, theories, and programs that boost data privacy and compliance in the Philippines.

With the theme “Empowering DPOs and Protecting Personal Data Privacy Rights of Filipinos,” the National Privacy Commission (NPC) wants to emphasize the critical role of Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in promoting responsible use of personal information and protecting data privacy rights of Filipinos.

This year, #PAW2023 is all about increasing awareness on data privacy and celebrating those who are making a difference.

5 ways to celebrate PAW (For data subjects)

The first step to protecting your privacy is to understand what it is and what it means to you. By taking the time to educate ourselves, we can safeguard our personal information both online and offline. Maaring magbasa ng educational materials tungkol sa data privacy at inyong mga karapatan sa NPC website at social media pages.

Maging maingat at mapanuri!

Sharing is caring! One of the best ways to raise awareness about data privacy is to talk to your friends and family about it. Share what you've learned about data privacy and encourage them to take steps to protect their own personal information.

I-call out ang nakikitang data privacy violations at maling practices, online at offline! Wag mag-atubili na kunin ang kanilang atensyon, lalo na kung may ibang tao na apektado.

Use your voice to raise awareness! Maging advocate ng ng data privacy sa pamamagitan ng paggawa ng Twitter Space, Spotify Podcast, o social media posts para i-celebrate and Privacy Awareness Week at makiambag sa culture of privacy sa Pilipinas.
